Olivia is the great niece of our designer Chuck and she is five  years old.  She was born with a severe heart defect know as Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome (HLHS).  Simply put, she was born with half of a heart.

The Dorothy Mae Candle Company 1916 is proud to be a part of Olivia's Fundraiser for Congenital Heart Defects Research.

By purchasing these fine handcrafted soy candles, tarts, chunksters, room sprays and refreshing oils, you will be supporting Olivia and The American Heart Association.

This year The Chasmacian Crafter is adding three of our popular handcrafted silicone rose light bulbs to the list of products for Olivia's Fundraiser.

During the past five years, Olivia has spent over 130 days at The University of Iowa Children's Hospital.  She has endured three open-heart surgeries as well as 5 heart catheters and is a stroke survivor.

This defect is the most complicated in the CHD family.  About one out of every one hundred babies are born each year with some type of congenital heart defect.

For every dollar provided by the national government, The National Institute of Health, only one penny is provided for pediatric research and only a portion of that penny goes to support research for heart defects which is the most common birth defect.

  Olivia's objective is to promote physical activity to build healthier lives free of cardiovascular diseases and stroke.

A large percentage of the sales will go to Olivia to donate to The American Heart Association .  None of this money is going directly to Olivia.  She is a wonderful little girl and  who in spite of a congenital heart defect, has the biggest heart in the world.

Olivia and her family are looking to reach a goal of  more than last year to donate to The American Heart Association.  Let's help them achieve this goal by donating to a wonderful cause.

Olivia was the poster child for The American Heart Association in Cedar Rapids Iowa (Linn County) in 2012.

Olivia and her family chose four fragrances they would like to sell in order to raise money for The American Heart Associations Heart .
